The solidarity cooperative Cabaret Mile End
La production de spectacles par le milieu, pour le milieu, dans le milieu, telle est la principale motivation des promoteurs de l'équipe du Cabaret du Mile End.
Located in the heart of Montreal's Mile End for over 30 years, this concert hall at 5240 Avenue du Parc has witnessed performances by thousands of artists who have led the Montreal cultural scene and have contributed locally to making this neighborhood, bordered by Plateau Mont-Royal and Outremont, a drawing card for creative artists in all fields.
We produce shows that give a platform to emerging artists from a multitude of backgrounds and styles of music from around the world with special consideration for local artists. This is the main motivation of the founding members of the cooperative Cabaret Mile End.
The solidarity cooperative Cabaret Mile End
was born from the desire of local residents, along with other interested individuals, to support this neighborhood's cultural and artistic life by mobilizing the resources necessary to bring this concert hall back to life.
The Cabaret Mile End opened its doors in March 2010. This room and music venue enjoys a reputation among producers, including Nuits D'Afrique, Blue Skies Turn Black and Pop Montreal. In addition, Mile End Productions intends to produce twenty shows per year which will specifically encourage neighborhood artists and support fund-raising activities for social, community, cultural, student, and corporate events.
